Annual John Todd Invitational Golf Tournament
Every year the strongest companies in our industry come out to support the John Todd Invitational Golf Tounament which has contributed over $100,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society and over $40,000 to KidsAbility.
About John Todd
Fresh off the plane from Edmonton with his wife and four young daughters, John Todd opened Marks Supply Inc. in 1962. From the humble beginnings of an office, a storage shed, one employee and a truck, John grew Marks Supply into a profitable business with $8 million in sales and four branches. In 1995 he sold his company to his youngest daughter, Robin, but still arrived at the office every day to work on his computer, manage his holdings, and chat with the staff.
In November 2001 John died at home after a three-year battle with lung cancer. A long time employee, Dave Rourke, came up with the John Todd Invitational Golf Tournament idea to honour the man who started it all. At the first tournament in 2002 we hosted 35 players and raised just under $1000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Since then the annual invitational has blossomed into an event that is sold-out every every year and has contributed more than $117,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society and KidsAbility.
"We are profoundly grateful for the support our customers, suppliers, and employees give to the annual John Todd Invitational Golf Tournament. Your generous contributions of time, money, and goodwill are what make this event one of the most sought after invitations in the industry."
